About Amistad
Amistad in Munich is all about tapas and wine. A stocktake covers around 300 items, a large share of them wines. That’s exactly what makes it laborious: with every new wine, the list that has to be counted changes.
The starting point: paper chaos and lists that are never finished
Before BarBrain, a stocktake took around 9 hours, spread over several days. Counting was done on paper. Whenever a new wine joined the range, general manager Julius had to update the stock list – with a large wine range, a constant extra effort. For him, stocktaking was one of the most annoying and time-consuming tasks in the venue.
On top of that came the risk of any paper solution: if a sheet gets lost, the count is gone and can’t be reconstructed.
“If something gets lost, it’s gone. It’s irreparable.”– Julius, General manager, Amistad
The rollout: new wines in one or two clicks
With BarBrain’s digital stocktaking app, the stocktake now runs fully digitally. The biggest difference is in the wine range: instead of rebuilding the stock list from scratch for every new product, Julius adds new wines in one or two clicks. Whatever has been counted is stored digitally – a lost sheet can no longer ruin the stocktake.
The result: 3 hours instead of 9
The stocktake now takes around 3 hours instead of 9 – that’s 67% less time. And it no longer drags on over several days; it’s done in a few hours.
The recommendation to other operators
“I recommend BarBrain if you want to save time and nerves on your stocktakes in future.”– Julius, General manager, Amistad
