How do I structure my area in BarBrain?

This article describes how to structure your area in BarBrain sensibly to save time.

A clear structure in your area helps you save time and makes stocktaking more efficient. Here are some tips on organising your area sensibly:

1. Create products in a logical order

When you do your stocktake, you probably always start in the same place and work your way systematically through the area. That’s why you should:

  • Create products in the right order: Arrange the products in the order you move through the area – from left to right or from front to back.
  • Example: If the stocktake starts on the left of the storeroom shelf and continues to the right, the products in BarBrain should be stored in that same order.

Benefit: You have to scroll and search less during the stocktake – which saves a huge amount of time.

2. Define fixed places for products

We recommend that products always stay in the same place – both in BarBrain and physically in your area.

  • Fixed product places save time: If items are always in the same place, you have to search less – both during stocktaking and in day-to-day work.
  • Avoid frustration: Fixed placement keeps things tidy and makes it easier for colleagues to find items quickly too.

3. Review areas regularly

Regularly take time to review and reorganise your area:

  • Remove products you no longer use: Keep your stock list up to date so you don’t have to count unnecessary items.
  • Slot in new products straight away: Add new products in the right place immediately to avoid chaos.

4. Tip for multiple areas

If you have several areas (e.g. storeroom, bar, cold storage), stick to a consistent structure that works for every area. This makes it easier to find your way around and simplifies daily work.

Summary

A well-structured area saves you and your team time and stress. A clear order, fixed places and regular reviews make stocktaking and everyday work simpler and more efficient.
